About This Vintage Gibson LG-2 Guitar
1943 Gibson LG-2 Banner FON 2122
A war-time gem thanks to the Kalamazoo Gals!!
This guitar is a needs-nothing, ready to be played, vintage LG-2 that has a beautiful voice and patina. It has recent conservation work including glueing the soundhole edge crack and a couple loose top bracing. The original tuning machines are included and are fully functional but a straight replacement Golden Age Tuners are installed for conservation of the tuning machines.
There is an old hairline crack in the heel that likely happened during a neck reset. There are two hairline cracks from then fretboard extension to the soundhole.
There is finish crazing throughout. The frets are medium height and have minor fretwear. The bridge is seated properly. The setup is standard with a respectable saddle height.
The neck is full and round. It is free of capo misuse. There is no strap button installed. The pickguard has a beautiful pattern. The case is an aftermarket hardshell case.
