About This Vintage Gibson Guitar
1951 Gibson J-45 FON 7034 25
Be sure to check out the other vintage guitars from the Ed Simpkins collection - 1937 Martin 0-17H, 1948 Martin 000-28, 1954 Martin D-18.
This guitar is the only guitar that came with Ed when he and Debbie found each other. We don't know where Ed obtained it, meaning it was with him since before 1979.
The bass side tuner buttons have been replaced. The top crack has been glued, no cleats. The truss rod is functional. Original Finish, Nut, Frets, Bridge, Saddle, pickguard, bridge plate, end pin, case. The neck has never been reset.
The guitar is playable, but will need a neck set to be a full players guitar again. The top seam and back center seam show slight separation and should be sealed/glued for conservation.
The guitar is wonderful in vintage vibe and vintage tone!
